What are your children’s names and ages? Sofia is 13 and in 7th grade at McKamy, Sonia is 9 and in 4th grade, and our youngest, Lilia, is 5 and just started Kindergarten. What activities do you enjoy doing with your family? We’re a Disney family! We love going to Disney World and visit 3-4 times a year. Before settling in Flower Mound 4 years ago from Wisconsin, we moved around quite a bit, and Disney World became our “home away from home.” When we’re not at the parks, you’ll usually find us at the dance studio or enjoying a movie night together at home. In which areas do you volunteer at OSE? I help out in the workroom, serve as a room representative for both Kindergarten and 4th grade, and chaperone field trips whenever I can! What do you enjoy most about volunteering? We have such amazing teachers, and I really enjoy supporting them whenever I can. It’s also been a great way to connect with the OSE staff, students, and fellow volunteers. What would you say to someone on the fence about volunteering for OSE? It’s incredibly rewarding and a wonderful way to meet OSE teachers and families—you won’t regret it! |
