Reflections

Reflections has been a staple arts program in many schools for over 50 years. Through the efforts of our Local PTAs, millions of students have found a creative outlet in the areas of dance choreography, film production, literature, music composition, photography, and visual arts.

With positive recognition as the focus of this program, rather than competition, students of all ages and abilities can experience the benefits of creative expression and help in finding their own voice in telling their unique story.

Started in 1969, Reflections has grown to be one of the largest nationwide programs of its kind, with more than 200,000 students participating annually.

The 2023-2024 Reflections theme is “I am Hopeful Because…”

Reflections

Old Settlers Elementary PTA is proud to participate in the National PTA Reflections Program. The program has encouraged millions of students to express themselves by giving positive recognition for their artistic efforts.

Students in preschool through grade 12 may create and submit works of art in six categories: dance choreography, film production, literature, musical composition, photography, and visual arts. Students are recognized at the Local, Council, State and National PTA levels. At each level, all entries are judged on interpretation of the theme, creativity and artistic merit.

Student entry forms and official rules may be found online at https://www.txpta.org/reflections-participation.

Visit our 2022-2023 Reflections Gallery to see examples of entries that were awarded by Texas PTA in past years. And see last year’s State and National results.

Express your artistic talent and tell us how you plan to show your voice through Reflections!
